While there are other electrical devices used for pain management, the majority are TENS and EMS milliamperage modalities created to temporarily block the pain sensation as would an analgesic drug; or cause the muscles to twitch and "tetanize" which over time has a detrimental, fatiguing effect on the tissue. These devices are uncomfortable and do not contribute to healthy tissue repair in the long run. Milliamperage stimulation will actually reduce the presence of ATP, the fuel of the cell required for it to perform its work; whereas, microcurrent (600 μA and below) significantly accelerates production by reactivating dormant mitochondria. There are also other microcurrent devices on the market; however, the Acuscope was the first (released in 1978). In addition to being the “category creator,” it is still the ONLY technology to incorporate biofeedback monitoring with computerized microchip programming that continuously calculates an individualized corrective Output based on Input from the body while the treatment is being delivered. In comparison to these advanced I/O devices, all other available microcurrent units are blind output only.

What is the AcuScope and MyoPulse, or MicroCurrent?

AcuScope

The AcuScope addresses nerve cells throughout the nervous system, improving circulation in Peripheral Nerves as signals relay throughout the body, arms, and legs; restoring conductivity from Nerve Roots along the Spine, out to the extremities; relieving pain at Nerve Endings in damaged tissue. In addition to pain management in specific areas of complaint, General Systemic Well-Being occurs, as if one were "boosting the charge on the batteries" throughout the body via the “electrical wiring” of the neural network. The Central Nervous System (brain and spinal cord) also benefits as brainwaves are gently moved into calm, even regular waveforms. When Guided Relaxation and/or Visualization Techniques are combined with the use of the Acuscope’s Alpha Brainwave Procedure, stress diminishes quickly and significantly, a unique application of this gentle biofeedback-driven microcurrent technology.

MyoPulse

The Myopulse is used for treatment of the head, neck, and face as well as skin. Scar tissue usually softens and often disappears. Applied for pain management, it is the Myopulse calibration used for head trauma (TBI Traumatic Brain Injury), neck damage (whip lash, poor posture, etc.), facial tissue injury and problems such as TMJ, Bell’s Palsy, post-stroke as well as post-reconstructive facial surgery. This Myopulse is purposely calibrated to penetrate gently into the shallow, delicate sub-dermal micro-muscles that attach to the skin (dermis) underlying our facial features. Thus, it is safely utilized for facial rejuvenation, the “non-surgical microcurrent face lift;" and to eliminate lines, wrinkles, scars, acne as well as cellulite.
